Born in 1st July, 2014 in the name of M R Fashion, a registered partnership firm later it was converted into LLP firm w.e.f 08.07.2021 and renamed as M/s Merry Kurtis LLP, a Limited Liabilities Partnership Firm, owned by husband and wife – Mr. Manoj Kedia and Mrs. Kavita Kedia. They engaged in the business of manufacturing of wearing apparel. The owners have good experience in this line of business and is engaged in this business for more than 10 years. They started their journey with Merry Kurtis, the brand in the Indian retail space that offers “Indian contemporary’ women’s wear. Next was the brand M Klub, Empress by MK, 14 fire, Mam Designer Kurtis, with an aim to make Indian wear more intriguing, affordable, and easy to wear for modern Indian women. With a wide range of trending top-wear, bottom wear, and coordinates, we can create a unique look. 

And not just that latest collections comprise an array of pastel shades, white to white, fresh designs, patterns, and silhouettes. We are fashion conscious and comprise the range of sustainable apparel. In the range, we find ample options in top-wear and sets, which are not just comfortable but environment friendly as well. Recently we have introduced a new collection which are core hinges upon the beauty of Indian crafts. The
collections are the perfect blend of Indian tradition and the modern age language. Our beauty of hand work embroidery on cotton silk, jacquard and kantha work and much more. We made fits fitter
India does not have a standard size NF chart and to address this, we did one of the first Anthropometric studies and worked out a complete body measurement to create a range smarter and perfect fits. We were the first to introduce 6 sizes in India when most were offering 3 sizes. Again in 2017, we revised the study and introduced the seventh size. The right fit is priceless and we want the perfect look for every woman.

To complete the wardrobe, we have introduced the “Western Wear” range. It is a new style statement that the Merry Kurtis LLP woman can experience and uplift their style game. The range includes, short to anklelength dresses, tiered to peplum tops, shirts, bottom-wear and much more.

Business model

The initial process starts with the procurement of fabrics. A wide variety of fabrics are purchased from Surat, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and occasionally from local traders. The price range of fabrics ranges from ₹ 20/- per meter which extends to ₹ 250/- per meter. The credit period for purchase of fabrics is 30 to 150 days. The purchased fabrics are then sent for hand embroidery.

The fabrics are then sent to local jobbers which spread across West Bengal for Job work. These jobbers involve in hand work and create a wide variety of unique designs. The designs are a combination of inhouse designing concepts as well as jobber’s ideas. This gives immense mileage to the firm to tap more business despite stiff competition. The average time taken by the jobbers is 90 to 120 days.

The payment to jobbers must be made upfront on receiving the complete finished garments. To be precise 85% to 95% of job cost must paid upfront. In comparison to the complete product 80% of cost comprises of Job work. The next process is of checking the finished product. A team of our employees get involved in examining the hand work done on the Fabrics. The defective pieces are returned to the jobbers for repair while the accurate one’s form part of the stock. Each design finds a shelf space as samples. Owning to this firm always must hold a healthy amount of stock.

Business model

Customers across India come to our showroom where they are catered from a wide variety of designs. The selected garments are then sent for finishing and packing after which they are dispatched to the customers through numerous transports. The average credit period offered to the clients in 45 to 90 days. The Customers are mainly located all over India.
